POLICE have launched an appeal in a bid to track down a man who attacked another in an unprovoked assault in Nuneaton, leaving him needing hospital treatment.

It happened on December 12 around 12.45am on the forecourt of the BP Anker Service Station on Weddington Road.

The 39-year-old man had stopped for a coffee when he was assaulted by man who was unknown to him and had pulled up in a red VW Golf car. The suspect was joined by two other men from the vehicle.

The victim needed hospital treatment for the injuries he sustained.

PC Barrett, of Warwickshire Police, said: “We would like to hear from anyone with information about this nasty and seemingly unprovoked assault.”

Witnesses or anyone with information or dash cam or doorbell footage of the area around that time should call Warwickshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
