COVENTRY’S Fargo Village hosted a Beard Festival on Saturday, (July, 27) raising £500 for charity.
Beard Festivals have become extremely popular throughout the county as well as America.
The event saw crowds of men, women and children competing for prizes using their beards.
This years theme was ‘strong man’ – competitions included people lifting weights and pulling objects with their beards or mustaches.
Sue Higgins and her daughter Faith King organised the event which raised money for Zoe’s Place Hospice and Coventry and Warwickshire MIND.
Faith said: “It was such a fun day and everyone had a great time.
“We have been doing the event for a few years, it is a great way to raise money for a good cause, using a day jam packed with madness.”
Women and children creatively made their own fun beards to get involved with all the fun.
The first beard and moustache show was held in London in 1873, and has grown massively since.
