TWO teenagers have been arrested after a police pursuit in Coventry.

A 17-year-old and 18-year-old were chased by police after they allegedly threw knives and gloves from a BMW in Stoke on April 2.

They abandoned the car on Beaconsfield Road, with a group running from the scene.

Police say they detained two suspects while recovering knives and gloves.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said officers charged the two with going equipped, possession of a knife and failing to comply with restrictions relating to coronavirus.

Chief Inspector Phil Cape from the force Gangs team, said: “This is a great result which has resulted in removing potentially deadly weapons from our streets.

“It also highlights that we rely on community intelligence to provide information to us and that we will take action.”
