A NEW Caribbean restaurant – Turtle Bay – will create 50 jobs when it comes to Coventry in August.

The chain is opening the eatery in the city’s Cathedral Lanes and the restaurants are famous for their vibrant design, Caribbean cuisine, signature cocktails and social atmosphere.

Among the specials people can enjoy are jerk chicken, fiery goat curry, delicious desserts and the bottomless brunch.

The restaurant also has its own vegan menu with punchy Caribbean flavours, including starters, brunch, burgers, curry and more.

The company is on the hunt for 50 of the city’s best hospitality talent to accompany it on its journey to the city.

To support the recruitment drive for the new venue, Turtle Bay is hosting two ‘audition days’ for potential team members on June 29 and 30 at Coventry’s Ramada Hotel.

It is expected that up to 60 per cent of the jobs on offer at the venue will be recruited across those two days.

Carl Jones, Turtle Bay Coventry’s operations manager, said he was looking forward to opening in the heart of the city.

“It’s always exciting to launch somewhere new, but the fact that we’re coming into the city in the midst of its UK City of Culture year definitely adds to the excitement.

“It will also be great to see the calibre of people we get along at our ‘audition days’ next month.

“We know this past year has been tough on a lot of people, but we also know that there are some exceptional people looking for their next role – and we want them to come and see us.

“At Turtle Bay, we’re really proud to be able to offer a wide variety of jobs within the new venue and can’t wait to meet everyone.”

Charmain Wright, Cathedral Lanes’ centre manager, added: “Myself and the team at Cathedral Lanes are thrilled to be adding Turtle Bay to our little part of the city. It’s wonderful to see so many big-name restaurants sitting alongside our amazing independent businesses and helping to bring the city back to life again.”

Turtle Bay Coventry will open to the public on August 14 at Unit 9, Cathedral Lanes, Coventry.

More information on the audition days will be released in due course.
