New £3million Coventry entertainment venue set to open later this year

Coventry Editorial 27th Jun, 2022   0

A NEW £3million entertainment venue which will create up to 100 jobs is set to open later this year after the pandemic delayed its unveiling.

Players entertainment was created on the former Pink Parrot nightclub site in the city centre, which was bought by local entrepreneur Jeffy Li in 2019.

Redevelopment and opening plans had to be put on hold during the pandemic, but the venues transformation is near completion and some areas of the complex are already open for bookings.

The venue features 20 private hire rooms that can host parties of up to 45 people, and connecting rooms can mean that as many as 80 people can attend events.

Each room has a 180-inch television and state-of-the-art sound systems.

Music lovers can tap into the venue’s playlist or play music through their smartphone, YouTube or Spotify and there is an up-to-date karaoke system to have a singalong.

Room service is available in each room through the touch of a button, and once fully open Players will have a club lounge featuring a bar where people can watch sports and host live events and e-gaming competitions.

Players Entertainment General Manager Jonathan Owusu said: “We are so happy to finally be able to welcome guests into our new private hire rooms.

“Since we soft-launched a few weeks ago, the feedback has been phenomenal.

“We are delighted to be investing in the city, creating new jobs and giving a boost to the economy by providing high-quality entertainment experiences that are safe, versatile and fun.”
