A MOTORCYCLIST had to be anaesthetised and rushed to hospital after a Coventry crash left him with a serious head injury.
Emergency services were called to Courtland Avenue just before 12.30pm today (Wednesday) where a man had been left unconscious following a collision with a stationary car. He also had pelvic, chest and arm injuries.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said in order to stabilise his condition doctors had to anaesthetise the man from the air ambulance.
He added the man was fully immobilised before he was taken in an ambulance to the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.
“The doctor travelled on the back of the ambulance to continue treatment en-route to the hospital,” the spokesman said.
“Unfortunately, the man’s injuries are thought to be extremely serious.”
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an ambulance, a paramedic area support officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance to the scene.
