More than 200 jobs to be created in Coventry as packaging firm announces new HQ at Ansty Park

MORE than 200 jobs will be created when Kite Packaging opens a new headquarters in Coventry.

The new 300,000sq ft site will be built at the Proespero Ansty Park.

The employee-owned business says it demonstrates Kite’s leadership and commitment to the packaging industry and local economy.

The building – pictured in the artists impressions – is predicted to become one of the biggest buildings to be constructed in Coventry next year and will be unlike anything owned by a packaging company previously.

Since being founded in 2001, Kite Packaging has quickly become one of the largest packing suppliers in the UK, with seven Regional Distribution Centres to enable it to meet the demands of its international supply chain.

Record-breaking growth in the past couple of years has prompted the urgency for more space in order to fulfil the accelerating demand for packaging products.

The new location will boast state-of-the-art logistics to address this surge, drastically increasing the efficiency of their operation and enabling a greater capacity for more custom.

The 200+ jobs will help Coventry’s aspiration to close the gap between the local unemployment rate and the national average and there will be a variety of opportunities available.

At a time when many industries are suffering, Kite’s evolution sparks hope and positivity for both local people and the economy as a whole.

The site is planned to meet the very highest of standard both for the team’s welfare and from an environmental standpoint.

The aim is for the site to use the very latest technology to ensure that it produces and stores all its own electricity as well as harvesting it own rainwater.

Gavin Ashe, Kite Packaging Managing Partner, said: “As an employee-owned business, our greatest asset is our people, so having an amazing new home where we can continue to grow at the same time as having the space to learn and be creative is just fantastic.”

The new site is at Prospero Antsy Park, alongside other giants, including Sainsbury’s, Meggitt and Rolls-Royce.

The base will contain the business’s Central Administration, online B2B platform operation, Compliance Division, Midland RDC, National Distribution Centre and largescale logistics organisation.
