Modern slavery photography exhibition coming to Coventry

A PHOTOGRAPHIC exhibition attempting to raise awareness of modern slavery will be visiting Coventry.

The exhibition, called ‘Invisible People’, comes as part of the National Crime Agency’s Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking campaign.

The objective of the exhibition is to create a public understanding that victims may be hidden within their communities and to alert people to the signs and how to report their concerns.

The exhibition features photographs by award winning photographer Rory Carnegie, depicting the Modern Slavery threat in the UK.

The images capture snapshots of life within different types of modern slavery – in agriculture, construction, maritime, cannabis farming and food processing, child trafficking for sexual exploitation and forced prostitution.

The photographs have been enlarged and printed onto illuminated cubes that will be placed on a weekly basis in busy public areas, such as high streets and shopping plazas, in a number of cities across the UK.

The exhibition launched in London at the Kia Oval last week and is now on a national tour, calling in Coventry by the Godiva Statue in Broadgate on February 3 and 4.
