THREE masked men wielding crowbars and hammers assaulted a staff member at a Coventry Post Office.
Police say they were called to the Post Office on Remembrance Road, Willenhall, Coventry, at around 4.55pm yesterday.
A male staff member had to be ‘treated for shock’ after the terrifying assault but avoided serious injury.
Police are appealing for information and believe the gang escaped in a black car after stealing a cash box.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Police received a 999 call at 4.55pm reporting three masked men armed with crowbars and hammers robbing a Post Office in Remembrance Road, Willenhall, in Coventry.
“It’s understood a staff member was assaulted and threatened before a cash box was stolen. The men made off in a black car.
“The male staff member was badly shaken up and has been treated for shock.
“Enquiries underway – any witnesses to call West Midlands Police on 101 quoting log number 1881 from 25 July.”
