TEN FIREFIGHTERS battled a ground floor flat blaze in the early hours of this morning in Coventry.
Two crews – from Coventry and Binley fire stations – attended the incident at the two-storey block in Fabian Close, Wilenhall.
The first engine arrived within five minutes of the emergency call being made.
One man who was out of the property when crews arrived and was suffering from the effects of smoke.
He was given oxygen by firefighters and then treated by West Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics before being taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further checks.
The severe fire – in the bedroom of the property – started accidentally.
