A MAN remains in a critical condition after a video of a brutal van robbery in Coventry emerged online.

Police say they are hunting for the perpetrators and are appealing to the public for information.

Police were called to the junction of Caludon Road and Swan Lane just before 1pm on Monday (November 19) to reports of a man hanging from the windscreen of a white Transit.

The distressing footage circulating on Facebook shows the man clinging on to the van’s windscreen while it was travelling at high speed.

He can be heard crying out for help as the speeding van approaches a turn in the road.

An image shows the man sprawled on the ground being supported by passers-by after being left injured as the van drove off.

The 30-year-old was taken to hospital where he today remains in a critical condition, police confirmed.

Later on Monday, police located the burnt out van on Lentons Lane, Coventry. It has been recovered for forensic examination.

Detective sergeant Andy Malin from force CID said: “We are currently analysing video and CCTV footage and have spoken to a witnesses but are still urging anyone with information to get in touch.

“A man who was just going about his daily job has been left seriously injured and it’s important that we find who is responsible as soon as possible.”
