A 19-year-old man shot to death in a Coventry street has been named.
Abdul Wahid Xasan, from Foleshill, died from gunshot wounds to his back as he walked along Harnall Lane and into Adelaide Street in Hillfields just after 2.30pm yesterday (March 13).
A car believed to have been used in the shooting was found in London Road, Coventry, hours later and a cordon remains at both scenes as enquiries continue.
Detective Chief Inspector Scott Griffiths, from the forces homicide unit, said: “Our sympathies remain with Abdul’s family as they try to come to terms with this horrific crime.
“They are being supported by specialist officers as we continue to find the answers they deserve and bring Abdul’s killers to justice.”
Police say a man, aged 19, and a 15-year-old boy were arrested from their home addresses in the early hours of this morning on suspicion of Abdul’s murder.
