Mai-Li's granddad is the most hated 'bah-humbug' man this Christmas!

BUDDING actress Mai-Li is happy for her granddad to be Coventry’s most hated man at Christmas!

She is treading the boards alongside him at the Albany Theatre where he is playing Scrooge.

Her granddad is the highly acclaimed actor Christopher Saul, aka Ebeneezer Scrooge, the seemingly heartless money lender who hates Christmas.

Mai-Li is locally trained at the PQA Academy and is happy if .. for now .. for “bah humbug” curmudgeonly granddad to be reviled!




The production of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol is directed by Keith Myers and produced by Tread the Boards Theatre Company is association with the Albany Theatre. The Butts, Spon End, Coventry.

It also stars BBC Coventry and Warwickshire breakfast show presenter Trish Adudu as the ‘Ghost of Christmas Present’.


The theatre advises it is not a pantomime and is not suitable for children younger than five. It is a one hour, 55 minute performance, with an interval.

Tread the Boards Theatre Company were winners of ‘Best Children’s Production’ at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2015 and Finalists for the ‘Primary Times Children’s Choice Award’.

Keith Myers’ recent productions include the theatre tour of ITV’s Heartbeat which played at the Belgrade Theatre and the farce Run For Your Wife in Vienna.

The show runs until Monday January 2.
