THOUSANDS of Coventrians soaked up the sunshine and German cuisine as the annual Oktoberfest hit the streets of Broadgate.

Launched last year, the Coventry Oktoberfest has proved itself to be more than just German beer with live music, a range of German foods and full lederhosen on display.

A giant tent entertained up to 1,200 guests at a time a the four-day festival provided Coventry residents with the real German experience.

Oktoberfest visitor Darren Williamson said: “There was beer, food and songs to sing along to – it was great fun to take my friends along and soak up the German spirit.”

Marion Cope said “The cente of Coventry had a brilliant atmosphere throughout the event – we had a fantastic time and would definitely return.”
