LAPTOPS have been donated to young carers across Coventry and Warwickshire.

Warwick-based engineers and recruitment business Contechs donated ten laptops to local charity Warwickshire Young Carers after it appealed for the devices.

They will allow young carers to access computers help with schoolwork at home.

Contechs managing director Pete Jarvis said: “The responsibility of being a young carer can be overwhelming and difficult at times – and the pandemic would have only added to their already overflowing plate of pressures.

“With little opportunity to make contact with anyone outside of their household, caring from such a young age during this difficult times can be challenging – especially when they are forced to juggle home learning with their caring duties.

“The decision to provide laptops to young carers and their families to assist with their home schooling was a no-brainer.

“It is our hope these laptops will make the lives of young carers within Coventry and Warwickshire easier during this difficult period as no child should be left without the means to access schooling.”
