COVENTRY South MP Jim Cunningham is celebrating re-election after securing an almost 8,000 vote majority and a further 12.8 per cent of the vote compared to the 2015 General Election.
Mr Cunningham secured 25,874 votes with Conservative Michelle Lowe claiming second spot with 17,927 votes.
Lib Dem Greg Judge returned 1,343 votes, UKIP’s Ian Rogers secured 1,037, Green Party candidate Aimee Challenor recorded 604 votes and Independent Sandra Finlay posted 224 votes.
Speaking after his re-election Mr Cunningham said: “Thanks so much to everyone in Coventry South. I’m humbled, honoured and looking forward to continuing representing our community.
“I also want to thank the hundreds of who delivered this victory. In particular thanks to @WarwickLabour – an amazing group of people.”
