Gunshots fired in Coventry shop: two arrested

Two men have been arrested after a report that shots were fired in a shop in Radford, Coventry last night.

Officers, including specially trained police from the force’s Firearms Unit, found two men at an address close to the shop on Heathcote Street at around 11pm.

A police spokesperson said: “It is believed that one of the men had got into a dispute with a shopkeeper after he was told the shop was closing.

“The two men aged 44 and 34 were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and remain in police custody this morning.




“Following a search of the address, an air rifle and pellets were recovered.”
