Good samaritan that prevented assault urged to come forward

Coventry Editorial 3rd Apr, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016

A GOOD Samaritan who stepped in to prevent an assault is being urged to come forward.

Police are searching for the brave passer-by who stopped an attack on a driver at around 7.10pm on February 9.

The 53-year-old female driver was stationary in her Red Lexus at the junction of Byron Street and Stoney Stanton Road when she edged forward and accidently nudged a woman who was crossing the road.

The pedestrian approached the driver’s side of the vehicle, opened the car door and punched the driver in the face a number of times.

Fortunately, a brave passer-by witnessed the attack, confronted the suspect and persuaded her to leave the scene.

If you are the Good Samaritan, witnessed the incident, or have any information email or contact Detective Constable Sarah Vaughan from Force on 101.

Alternatively, call the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
