GODIVA Festival organisers have confirmed that Sister Sledge will be bringing their soulful groove to the festival when they headline the Main Stage on Sunday 5 September.

The US born band, who became a household name with their 1979 worldwide hit and iconic album ‘We are Family’, have amassed a string of Gold and Platinum hits alongside GRAMMY nominations and are responsible for some of the biggest dance anthems of all time.

Coun Abdul Salam Khan, deputy leader and cabinet member for events said: “We’re really pleased to be able to announce that Sister Sledge are our Sunday headliners.

“Our aim with Godiva has always been to have acts that have diverse musical styles that appeal to all the family.

“Sister Sledge fit that bill and with their reputation as a fantastic live show, I’m sure they’ll put on a great performance.

“The festival is shaping up nicely and we’ve still got plenty of brilliant announcements to come.”

The group have performed all over the world, from the iconic Carnegie Hall in New York to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival and soon they’ll be able to add Godiva Festival to that list.

Early Bird tickets for the festival, which will enable customers to see Sister Sledge and other amazing acts at discounted prices, are currently still available.

People can get their Early Bird tickets from www.godivafestival.com/buytickets with the discounted price lasting until midnight on Friday 6 August.
