A CROWD-FUNDING campaign to help pay for the funeral of Cora Bacon who died in a crash in Coventry has raised £1,700 in just two days.

The GoFundMe was set up by friends of her family whose lives have been changed forever by the incident.

The 20-year-old was a passenger on a white Yamaha bike which collided with two vehicles on the A444 Jimmy Hill Way just before 10.50pm on Friday.

Cora died at the scene. The rider, also 20, remains in hospital with a fractured pelvis.

A post on the fund-raising page said: “On Friday Amy, Matt and family tragically lost Cora, a tragic accident that has left broken hearts and a space that will never be filled.

“Cora was a loving, caring young lady who had just started to build her own life with her own place to live and just got herself a new job.

“Cora’s sudden loss has been felt far and wide by all close to Amy, Matt and their family.”

It added the fund-raising page had been set up to provide Cora with the send-off she deserved.

“So many people have asked how they could support the family and with the permission from both Amy and Matt, we would like to show our support and raise as much money as possible, so the family can concentrate on each other, through this devastating time.”
