Coventry’s nightlife has been put through the ringer after research from Get Licensed named it the second worst city in the UK for a night out.
The research gave the city an overall score of 1.86 out of 10, meaning the only city ranked worse for a night out was London with a score of 1.73 out of 10.
Whilst Coventry’s average price per pint, at £3.98, was joint second cheapest compared to the 10 worst scoring cities, an average of only 9 bars per 100,000 residents meant Coventry scored poorly overall.
The data also scored the city low in terms of safety, with a Numbeo safety index score of 35.87 out of 100.
Other findings from the study said that 63% of residents reported worries about being mugged or robbed and only 27% of people felt safe when walking home alone at night.
The research relied on data from Tripadvisor to establish the number of bars and clubs, while the number of pubs was taken from CAMRA’s whatpub.com.
Each city’s population was taken from the World Population Review while safety data and the price per pint was collected from Numbeo.
