A GAS explosion in Coventry has destroyed a family home.
Pictures from Binley firefighters show the house on Outermarch Road, Radford, blackened and gutted following the ignition of a gas canister yesterday (March 9).
A spokeswoman for West Midlands fire service said: “Crews were called to a severe house fire in a two storey end-of-terrace house, in Radford.
“Approximately all of the ground floor and 75 per cent of the top floor was damaged by fire.
“We used six firefighters with breathing apparatus, hose reel branches and a covering jet, all of the people had escaped the property before our arrival.
“One person was take to hospital by ambulance.”
A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: “We were called by the fire service at 11:53am to a fire at a property in Outermarch Road in Coventry. We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene and treated one patient, a man, for minor injuries. He was discharged at the scene.”
