THE FUNERAL of Addison Packeer who was shot dead in Coventry will take place this month after a donations page was set up by his grieving mother.

Mr Packeer, 27, was found with serious head injuries at an address in Chepstow Close, Willenhall, on Friday, December 7.

A post mortem revealed he died from a gunshot wound.

His mother Grace Sterling paid an emotional tribute to her son on social media and has since been raising funds for his funeral.

She posted on Facebook yesterday, saying: “The funeral of my beautiful son Addison Packeer will take place Thursday, January 17 at St Paul’s Church on Foleshill Road at 10am and then Canley crematorium at 11.30am.

“I would like to thank everyone who made a donation.”

Grace has almost reached her target of £2,500, receiving £2,450 in donations in just over two weeks.

On the donations page she wrote: “Addison was shot dead on December 7 and I’m devastated.

“I need help to cover the cost of his funeral please if anyone can help I would truly appreciate it.

“My beautiful son. I can’t believe this is happening.”

She had previously posted in reaction to her son’s death, saying: “I’m crushed someone took his life at the age of 27. I can’t even begin to explain what I’m feeling as a mother.

“I’m never again going to see his face, smile, hug him or hear his goofy giggle. He has a family who is going to miss him forever.

“Son, I will eternally love and miss you. Till we meet again.”

On December 12, Jordan Bassett, 25, of Tintagel Close, Willenhall, Coventry, was charged with manslaughter and possession of a firearm.
