ORGANISERS of the Coventry City Former Players’ Association Golf Day have been forced to postpone this Thursday’s event due to a waterlogged course.
It is the first time the event has been postponed after ground staff at Stoneleigh Park Golf Course informed organisers the course is not in a fit state to host play.
A new provisional date has been set for Thursday (June 22).
Frank Pritchard, of the Coventry City’s Former Players’ Association, said: “This is the first time we’ve ever had to postpone out golf day.
“The course is waterlogged and the forecast for the rest of the week is worse.
“With some people travelling from far it wouldn’t be fair for them to turn up and then miss out on playing.”
With a record number of teams set to take to the course this year, a full refund will be offered to those who are not able to attend the new date at the end of the month.
