OVER 300 people across the West Midlands have been employed through the construction of Coventry’s new office building, TWO Friargate.

This is according to new figures released by Coventry City Council and Bowmer + Kirkland.

Over 450 people from across the wider Midlands have supported the development overall, including more than 130 people currently working on site.

The building is set for completion next year and once open will be one of the city’s most sustainable buildings.

Nearly 40 small and medium-sized businesses have been heavily involved in the project, including Coventry Construction Ltd, which is providing the steel beams.

Coventry City Council’s cabinet member for jobs, regeneration and climate change, Coun Jim O’Boyle said: “TWO Friargate has already generated significant activity in the local economy and promises to deliver an even more powerful boost for the city and region once completed.

“Local businesses and people are making TWO Friargate a reality, and we are proud of their contribution as we draw nearer to completion.”
