February half term activities for families at The Herbert and Coventry Transport Museum next week

THIS February half term (February 19 – 26) families from across the region can visit two exhibitions in Coventry showcasing diversity in fashion and motorsport.

Be Yourself; Everyone Else Is Already Taken will open on Friday February 18, just in time for half-term and includes 50 flamboyant life-size sculptures, featuring the work of Coventry raised artist, stylist and activist Daniel Lismore .

‘Wonderful Weaving’ activities for children of all ages will celebrate the weaving history of Coventry with crafts ranging from circle coasters and woven pen pots to dreamcatchers and bracelets.

They will take place between 10.30am – 3.30pm every day of the week (excluding Sunday).

Booking is not required for these activities.

Eight to 16-year-olds can also join an Art Masterclass on Thursday February 24.

Two sessions will run from 10.30am – 12.30pm and 2pm – 4pm costing £11.37 per child, including accompanying adults visit theherbert.org to book.

The Women in Motorsport exhibition at Coventry Transport Museum  aims to inspire future generations with personal stories of some of the fastest women in motorsport.

Lisa Ford, Learning & Engagement Manager across the two venues, said: “For families looking to entertain kids of all ages this half term both of these exhibitions are perfect.

“Not only will they be of interest to inquisitive young minds curious about motorsports, engineering and arts, but fashion-conscious older children and teenagers into sustainable fashion and activism.”
