THE FAMILY of a man who died in a Coventry collision have paid tribute to their loved one.

Leonard Steptoe was struck by a car on the Sewall Highway near to Sullivan Road at around 1.30pm on Thursday (April 28).

The 73-year-old was taken to hospital, though sadly died shortly after.

His family have paid tribute in a touching final message to Leonard: “A much loved dad, granddad, great-granddad and brother, also a friend to many, taken from us so tragically, is going to be missed greatly.

“We would like to express our many thanks for all the kind messages and support we have received.”

Officers investigating the circumstances into the collision are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant Adam Green, from the force’s collision investigation unit, said: “We continue to support the family and our thoughts remain with them at this sad time.

“This collision happened at a busy time of day and we are urging anyone who was in the area and who has not already spoken to us to come forward.”

A 41-year-old man was spoken at the scene and is assisting the inquiry.
