Emergency services called out after reports of a person seen in Coventry Canal

EMERGENCY services have responded to 999 reports of a person being seen in the water at Coventry Canal.

West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to Leicester Row, near the city centre, at 12.02pm today (Thursday January 30).

They have sent an ambulance crew two paramedic officers and a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART). West Midlands Police and the water rescue unit from West Midlands Fire Service are also in attendance.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We are currently in Drapers Fields, Coventry following a call from a member of the public reporting they may have seen someone in the canal.




“Officers are also being supported by colleagues from West Midlands Fire Service.”
