Egg-citing Easter activities coming up in Coventry

Coventry Editorial 7th Apr, 2023   0

COVENTRIANS will be able to take part in many egg-citing family-friendly events across the city over the Easter break.

St Mary’s Guildhall will be home to a ‘dragon egg quest’ until April 16, when youngsters can search for clues while learning about the city’s rich history.

The Guildhall will also host St Mary’s knight school on April 12, giving Coventry’s valiant young heroes the chance to master their sword skills.

At Coventry Cathedral, visitors can embark on a foraging adventure in the nearby green spaces around the Cathedral while solving puzzles, taking part in crafts and seeking out tasty treats.

The heart of the city centre will be transformed into Broadgate farmyard on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, complete with real-life animals such as lambs, rabbits, chickens and ducks, as well as free activities giving an insight into farm life.

Those looking to go shopping for handmade crafts, food and vintage gifts can visit Coombe Abbey’s artisan market on Easter Sunday.

And over at Fargo Village, the Digbeth Dining Club will be taking over on Saturday, April 8, while the popular spring makers’ market is set to return and will feature local artists, makers, designers and independent businesses.

Visit Coventry’s managing director Paul Jones said: “With the continuing challenges brought by the cost-of-living crisis, it’s vital that there’s a range of activities covering different budgets, which will ensure that every child in our city can have a wonderful Easter break.

“Coventry is a city steeped in history, and it is great to see our visitor attractions reflecting that in their offer. It’s important that children learn about the history of the city that they call home and there are plenty of opportunities to do that this Easter.”
