THE Tin Music and Arts venue and community space have enlisted the support of Volunteer It Yourself to help renovate the centre.

Volunteer It Yourself is an organisation that gives young people the chance to learn a new trade and skills by helping to fix local facilities in need of essential repairs and improvements.

The project, backed by Dulux’s Let’s Colour initiative, uses the power of colour and paint to transform lives by helping to make community spaces brighter and more welcoming.

Sarah explains: “With the help of VIY and Dulux we’re undertaking a major transformation which will see us build a brand-new stage for performance as well as new toilets.

“It means we’ll have a more professional set-up both for the young people we have on our projects and the touring bands who will visit.”

Alison Furness, marketing CSR manager at AkzoNobel UK and Ireland, says: “The transformation of The Tin is a perfect example of how refurbishments have the power to change lives for the better and bring communities closer together.”

The Tin Music and Arts venue and community space is a charity dedicated to supporting the latest generation of musical talent from the city of Coventry.

As a charity, The Tin provides music training for young people aged between 14 and 18, giving local bands and artists the opportunity to perform in a real, live music venue – equipping them invaluable experience of what life as a professional musician looks like.
