THERE will be live entertainment on the waterways next weekend when the Widgeon Theatre Boat brings its Grit of Life production to Coventry Canal Basin next weekend.

The 83-year-old vessel is touring the astonishing musical which tells the story from different viewpoints – both past and present.

Performances of the show will take place next Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The narrator weaves a tale through history and music and, as well as the toe-tapping music, the production also features newly written songs by Rory Mcleod and even a quiz.

The show is written and directed by John Knowles, produced by Widgeon’s own MJ Morgan and boasts an emerging cast, including Maisy Beth Crunden, Kristin Duffy, Hannah Harris, Patrick McHugh, then King Slim Size.

Grit of Life, being performed as part of Coventry’s City of Culture year, takes viewers on a colourfully informative journey of the waterways from a variety of perspectives and characters.
