Deafness and Dementia-Alzheimer's awareness day at Coventry shopping centre

A FREE Deafness and Dementia-Alzheimer’s awareness day will be held between 10am and 4pm on Sunday, May 8 at Cannon Park Shopping Centre.

To mark ‘Deaf Awareness Week’, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) and NHS Trust audiology will be providing information on how to live with deafness.

The Royal National Institute for Deaf People, which 8.7million deaf and hard of hearing people across the UK, will also be there with Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

The Lions Club of Coventry Godiva will hold a forum to raise awareness of the challenges presented by deafness and hearing impairments and how they can be addressed.

And, in conjunction with UCHW, there will be a hearing aid recycling talk.

Alzheimers and Dementia information will be given out throughout the day by Dementia Connect Local Services.

The Sky Blues in the Community, aimed at improving the health and well being of Coventry people with physical and mental difficulties through sport, will also shed light on what it offers.
