Coventry's Lady Godiva and the Godiva Sisters all set to hold Dame Goodyers Daye procession

COVENTRY’S Lady Godiva – Pru Porretta – and The Godiva Sisters will celebrate Dame Goodyers Daye on Friday, September 17.

A colourful musical procession will start at 11am by the Godiva Statue in Broadgate, journeying to Priory Gardens.

People are urged to go along and dress in Godiva State Uniforms, medals and traditional clothes.

The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress, further dignitaries including the Lord Lieutenants office, Major John Lam, Inspector Simon Finney and local faith leaders will also be there.




The event should last approximately one hour, will include Coventry school children in dance, music and song and conclude with a blessing of the foods offered by each Godiva sister, representing different cultures and faiths.

Small tokens of different food, which will be offered and shared among us.
