COVENTRY’S amateur ice hockey club The Honey Badgers will be helping raise funds to support suicide prevention charity Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) tomorrow.
In their first competitive outing since the start of the pandemic, the team travels to Milton Keynes to face the MK Bolts in the opening game of a charity tournament.
The Icing Against Male Suicide Charity Shield aims to raise awareness of male suicide as well as funds for CALM
The cause is close to the hearts of many in the local ice hockey community and the match is an opportunity to remember friends lost to suicide.
The annual competition, founded in 2017, features amateur clubs from across England and has this year set a fund-raising target of £5,000.
Honey Badgers Captain, David Drysdale said; “This is an exciting time for our players as we return to competitive match action in the name of a very important cause.
“We will be giving it everything out on the ice to win, and our full support to the fundraising efforts off the ice.”
