Coventry walk-in centre to remain open over Christmas

Coventry Editorial 10th Dec, 2016   0

THE CITY of Coventry Walk-in Centre will be open as usual over the busy Christmas period.

The walk-in centre on Stoney Stanton Road, which is run by Virgin Care, will be open from 8am to 10pm daily across Christmas.

At one of the busiest times of year for healthcare services Coventry Walk-in Centre will be open for patients who need medical advice or treatment for minor medical conditions such as ear aches, sore throats and flu.

Patients will be able to see nurse or doctor without an appointment and don’t have to be registered with the centre, which will be open as usual from 8am to 10pm on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Susan Robinson, Clinical Lead at Virgin Care’s City of Coventry Walk-in Centre, said: “We’ll be open as usual every day over Christmas to make sure that the people of Coventry can access healthcare when they need it.

“Because of winter conditions and Christmas events people are more prone to require medical attention and advice. People don’t need an appointment at the Walk-in Centre if they need medical treatment or advice, when they might not be able to get treatment elsewhere.”
