TWINS from Coventry have helped Team GB’s artistics gymnastics team win bronze at the Tokyo Olympics.
Jessica and Jennifer Gadirova were part of the quartet, along with Alice Kinsella and Amelie Morgan, which made it onto the podium after leapfrogging Italy and Japan in the competition.
It was a brilliant comeback when a medal looked unlikely for the British team which finished with a combined 164.096 – a slender 0.458 points more than fourth-placed Italy.
Jessica said: “It’s a dream we never thought come true. I never thought this was possible but it’s happened – I don’t know what to say.
“We each played a massive part and altogether, we just did it.”
Jennifer added: “It’s more than a dream com true, it’s just incredible.
“We’re such an amazing team and without each and every single one of us working hard, doing the performances we did, it wouldn’t have been possible.
“I’m so thankful of all of you guys and so proud of you.”
