Coventry Rotary Clubs urging families to enter its best-decorated Christmas window competition

Coventry Editorial 25th Nov, 2020   0

FAMILIES from across Coventry are being urged to get creative and enter a Christmas window decorating competition.

The contest is being run by the five Rotary Clubs of Coventry to spread some festive cheer in the absence of its Santa Sleigh which they are unable to take out this year because of Covid restrictions.

Prizes will be given to the three most imaginative and colourful festive window decorations.

Bearing in mind that the traditional Sleigh has been a vital fund-raiser for the Air Ambulance, Myton Hospice and other local charities, participants are being urged to donate £5 or whatever they can afford.

To enter participants should send a jpeg image of their window to [email protected] with an optional title for their creation, along with their family name, address and email address.

Apart from the photos, the details will only be available to the Administrators of the Coventry Santa Tracker Facebook page.

Locations of the homes will not be announced on Facebook and any comments revealing the location will be removed in a bid to avoid crowds gathering to see the windows.

To donate, log on to the Coventry Santa Tracker Facebook and use the donate button.

Full details and rules can also be found on Coventry Santa Tracker Facebook page.

The Christmas Windows Competition will start on Facebook from December 1 and entries will be uploaded from that day until December 19.

The three best entries will be announced on Christmas Eve and the winners will be notified by email.
