Coventry residents can be part of twin cities photography project

Coventry Editorial 12th Oct, 2021   0

THERE is less than one week left for residents of all generations to submit their best photos capturing life in Coventry as part of a major community project between the world’s oldest twin cities.

As part of the year as UK City of Culture, Coventry is celebrating its links with other twin cities around the world.

The link between Coventry and Volgograd, formerly Stalingrad, was established in 1944 after both cities experienced destruction in the Second World War.

Smartphone snappers and keen photographers are invited send in past and present photos showing “What Makes Your City Home” as part of an interactive photo exhibition to celebrate the first recorded act of twinning between Coventry and Volgograd.

Coventry residents have until Friday, October 15 to send in their photos, which if selected will be converted into one of over 300 QR codes and printed onto a giant Digital Tablecloth, which will tour both Russia and the UK in Spring 2022.
