Coventry police tackle youth violence, speeding drivers, stolen vehicles and illegal tobacco

POLICE in Coventry have been tackling youth violence, speeding drivers, stolen vehicles and illegal tobacco this week.

The Stoke and Wyken team seized a car after the driver was caught speeding during a community Speedwatch event.

In addition, he was also found to have been disqualified from driving and who had no insurance.

The team also joined up with Trading Standards for an operation in which they seized illegal tobacco and counterfeit vapes from a shop.

Over in the North West, the neighbourhood team helped return a stolen vehicle to its rightful owner after enquiries from the Radford and Holbrook Neighbourhood team.

The North West team also seized a car which was still being used without a licence or tax.

Elsewhere, the Hillfields Neighbourhood team paid a visit to the Coventry Police Cadets with a Youth Crime Commissioner to share ideas about serious youth violence.

And PCSO Ellis from the City Centre team visited St Anne’s Church for ‘Cuppa with a Copper’, to share crime prevention advice and listen to community concerns.
