Coventry Police spreading half-term happiness with outdoor cinema screening family-friendly films

Coventry Editorial 22nd Oct, 2020   0

COVENTRY families can enjoy some half-term happiness next week when the St Michael’s Neighbourhood Police Team will be showing some open air cinema screenings.

Six family-friendly films will be shown in Hillfields Village Square between Tuesday and Thursday (October 27 to 29).

Many families in Hillfields live in flats with no gardens and during lockdown officers were conscious it was really hard to keep youngsters entertained inside four walls.

A spokesperson said: “We’re living with tighter Covid-19 restrictions again but at present it’s fine for people in Coventry to meet outdoors in groups of no more than six.”

The outdoor cinema is 100 per cent Covid compliant.

Each showing will be restricted to a maximum of 90 people, sat in pre-booked seats in blocks of four or six, with two metres between seating rows.

All seating will be sanitised between showings on each day.

Every child that attends will receive a goodie bag with crime prevention advice in and some snacks to eat whilst watching the cinema.

Among the films will be The Greatest Showman, Pixar’s Toy Story 2 and Inside Out, Mighty Ducks, Ralph Wrecks the Internet or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Families wanting to book tickets should contact PCSO Adam Bettison via email at [email protected] or by text to 07391 019157.
