A COVENTRY police officer has been charged with five offences of indecency with a child.
PC Richard Chamberlain, aged 49, based at Coventry Police Station, has been bailed today (Monday, July 6) after he arrested by officers from the force’s public protection unit in October last year, following historical allegations of indecency with a child.
Following enquires, the West Midlands Police officer was charged with five offences, two indecent assaults on a child, then aged under 14 and three offences of gross indecency on a child aged under 14 at the time.
He remains suspended from his role within the force and will appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on August 4.
