COVENTRY and Warwickshire schoolchildren can explore the world of water and learn where it comes from and how it gets into our homes.

Severn Trent is urging teachers to book a free-of-charge interactive workshop to teach the kids about water.

‘The Wonderful World of Water’ makes sure youngsters know about water efficiency and know how to save water at home.

Severn Trent’s educators have designed new engaging assemblies that shows the reasons everyone needs to look after water and sheds light on water issues including climate change.

Maxine Smith, senior education officer at Severn Trent said: “The workshops are designed to be fun and interactive and cover the water cycle, how our water is cleaned and gift youngsters a chance to find out about all the work Severn Trent does.”

The education team had been teaching about sewage, with 21,800 children in the area took part in sessions last year.

The ‘Super Sewers’ topic is still available for secondary schools and is interactive and informative.

Maxine added: “We’ve ensured that kids can help put the water lessons they learn into practice by each receiving a water workbook that they can take home and there’s even a catchy song about saving water they can enjoy.

“We would urge interested schools or parents who would like to get a school involved to get in touch.”
