A COVENTRY man has been jailed for five years and four months after pleading guilty to possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply and driving without a licence or insurance.

Lionel Sop, 28, of no fixed abode, was stopped by Warwickshire Police County Lines Disruption Team officers in January after they spotted a suspected drug deal in Rugby Road, Leamington.

A total of 90 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine were seized by the officers and Sop was arrested.

Det Con Rob Garrison said: “Large seizures of drugs such as this cause significant disruption to the local supply chain.

“We know the impact the drugs trade has on local communities and we’re committed to ensuring criminals are not allowed to profit from this misery.”

He added the force was continuing to tackle county lines drugs crime and urged anyone with information or concerns on the sale and supply of drugs to call officers on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
