A COVENTRY man will appear at the city’s magistrates court today over the death of Nuneaton 84-year-old Mildred Whitmore.
Chase Kelly, aged 31, from Arley, has been charged with murder and burglary.
The charges relate to Mildred’s death in College Street, Nuneaton, on Tuesday.
A post-mortem issued an interim cause of death as asphyxiation.
Mildred’s family released a tribute describing the loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandma and friend as ‘the queen of the family.
It added: “Mildred would find great enjoyment from spending time with her family and pottering around her garden.
“Everyone who knew her would agree she was a loving gentle lady, who will be greatly missed by all that were lucky enough to know her.”
