ONE of the Coventry men who was arrested on suspicion of Syria related terrorism offences has been charged.

Nadeem Hussain, aged 35, from Threadneedle Street, Coventry was arrested on Tuesday (August 9) and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court today charged with three counts of being concerned in arrangements to make money available for the purposes of terrorism.

The offences, contrary to s.17 of the Terrorism Act 2000, were allegedly committed in April 2016.

A 25-year-old man who was also arrested by officers from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit in Coventry on the same day remains on police bail pending further enquiries.

He was released with strict conditions on Tuesday evening.

Both arrests were part of a continuing investigation into the financing of terrorism and were intelligence led.

Police say there was no immediate threat to public safety.
