STAFF and partners at a Coventry housing association teed off of their annual golf day to raise £17,000 for the Stroke Association.

Orbit Homes members of staff were joined by the company’s suppliers and contractors at Warwickshire Golf Club in Leek Wootton, to show off their golfing skills in aid of the charity.

George Obeng-Manu, Orbit Homes’ head of construction, said: “Over the last six years, our legendary golf days have raised an impressive £155,000 for charity.

“As well as everyone having a lot of fun, it’s a pleasure to be able to come together, as a business and with our partners, to support both local and national charities.”

Georgina Lawrence, regional fundraiser at the Stroke Association, welcomed the generous donation and said Orbit Homes had ‘gone the extra mile’ for the charity.

She added: “Without the efforts of fundraisers like this, we wouldn’t be able to support the 120,000 people in the West Midlands who are currently living with the devastating effects of stroke, as well as their families and carers.”
