Coventry creative group to help 'Arty Folks' with their mental health

Coventry Editorial 3rd Jun, 2022   0

ARTY Folks is running a three-week introductory course at its Coventry studio to help people with their mental health and well-being.

The art group is for adults who feel at a low point in their life and are struggling with poor mental health, anxiety and depression.

The course takes place for three Wednesdays in a row, starting between 10am and midday on June 8.

The projects in the course are for people who are experienced as well as those who have not done art since school, with tutors helping to develop creative skills including drawing, painting, sculpture and printing.

A personal coach and mentor will help students explore what is holding them back and will offer support on how to self manage their condition.

The course will enable students to build an art portfolio and provide help for those wanting to enrol on an art foundation course at college or university.
