Coventry council grateful to 'dedicated' adult services team

HUNDREDS of dedicated adult services workers have been told of the council’s ‘appreciation’ for their work.

Coventry council said the coronavirus pandemic has created ‘incredible challenges for teams with increased demand for care services.’

But that hasn’t deterred the hundreds of workers who have shown their dedication daily to make sure the impact on the people they are helping is kept to a minimum.

Adult Services teams work with partners across the city providing many services including social work, mental health support, occupational therapy, safeguarding, financial advice and much more.

A great effort is also going into making older people being discharged from hospital have the support and equipment in their home.

Coun Mal Mutton, Cabinet Member for Adult Services, said: “I want to say a huge thank you to all our social care staff who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.

“I know how much pride they take in the services they provide to some of our most vulnerable residents I want them to know how much it is appreciated.”

Pete Fahy, Director of Adult Services, added: “I am seeing examples every day of staff, despite all the obstacles, still providing great support to residents and to each other.

“They are being innovative and resourceful and I’m very proud of the work they are doing. Thank you to everyone.”
