COVENTRY comedian Guz Khan has announced a second hometown gig at the Rialto Plaza next Saturday, January 30, after describing last week’s in the city as ‘the greatest gig he ever had’.
Tickets to see the star of Taskmaster, Man Like Mobeen, Live at the Apollo and Netflix film Army of Thieves went on sale at 10am.
Guz Khan’s first date at the Rialto Plaza sold-out in less than 48hrs and he had such a good time he asked the venue if he could do it all over again.
This time Guz will return with some brand new material just for Coventry.
Tweeting straight after the gig and hashtagging in the Rialto Plaza, Guz said:“ COV CITY, thanks for making the gig tonight the greatest I’ve ever had. I f****ing love ya.” Then tagging the Rialto Plaza he added: “Reload ting asap.”
And the fans agreed – one – Russell Dixon – tweeted: “What a night!!!! Thankyou @GuzKhanOfficial …. You gave Coventry a breath of fresh air tonight! “
Kiran Sidhu added: “What a night I don’t think I’ve felt that much love for an artist in a room before, the whole city’s behind ya bro.”
Phyllis Gillis said: “Absolutely brilliant. And you have the great honour of being my 15 year old son’s first comedy gig. And you did not disappoint him.”
Although he performs regularly across the Midlands, Guz had never performed in Coventry until last week.
The Rialto Plaza’s head of programming James Penny said: “It was a tremendous honour to welcome Guz to the Rialto for his first ever home time gig.
“It was most definitely the best comedy event Coventry has ever seen!
“We hoped Guz would come back soon but didn’t expect he could come back just two weeks later. We are overjoyed!
