COVENTRY College has appointed Patrick Geary to the role of Vice-Principal for Curriculum Innovation, Quality and Performance.
As part of the senior leadership team, he will be responsible for developing the curriculum, leading departments and the safeguarding and student support teams.
Carol Thomas, the college’s principal and CEO, said: “Patrick comes to the college with a wealth of experience in further education.
“This new post will be key to driving forward the curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of the students and the local economy.
“There are some exciting opportunities as Coventry takes centre stage as the UK City of Culture this year, with the college acting as a partner, and we are looking forward to building on these.”
Patrick joins from Sandwell College, where he held the post of Vice Principal for Quality, Information and Curriculum.
Previous to that he worked at Birmingham Metropolitan College and Solihull College and University Centre in a senior leadership position.
He said it was a really exciting time to be joining.
“There is a real sense of momentum both for the city and the college, which has been reflected recently in the amount of applications for the new academic year.
“I’m looking forward to working with staff across the college as we look to build on these opportunities.”
